Timetables
The Messina–Salerno route operates with one daily daytime departure from Salerno to Messina. The return journey from Messina to Salerno runs overnight from Tuesday to Sunday, with an additional evening departure on Sundays. Departures from Messina to Salerno are scheduled at night. Therefore, the departure and arrival occur on the same calendar day, except for the Sunday evening crossing. If you depart at 2:30 AM on Tuesday, you will arrive on Tuesday morning.
Tickets
Purchasing a round-trip ticket may save you up to 20% on the return fare, subject to availability of promotional rates.
Discounts and special offers may be available depending on the season. Agreements and conventions are listed on the relevant page.
Passengers traveling under a special agreement must follow the validation procedures provided at the time of booking, also outlined on the page and in the General Terms and Conditions of Transport (Art. 4).

Passengers who fail to show up at embarkation within the required timeframes specified in the General Terms and Conditions of Transport are not entitled to a refund.
Bookings may be modified or canceled in accordance with the procedures outlined in the General Terms and Conditions of Transport (Art. 8).
As of January 1, 2013, invoices for tickets on the Messina–Salerno route must be requested at the time of booking—whether made online or by phone—or no later than the day of purchase.
First-time invoice requests require registration of your tax information via the E-Invoice section on our website.
If you forget to request the invoice at the time of booking, you may still call +39.090.57.37 on the same day of purchase to request one.
On-board information
The C&T fleet is equipped to transport both passengers and cargo, with ships capable of reaching speeds up to 26 knots. Onboard amenities include comfortable cabins with private bathrooms, lounges with numbered reclining seats, bars, self-service restaurants, satellite TV lounges, mobile signal coverage via satellite, roaming internet access, a children’s play area, and accessible facilities for passengers with reduced mobility. Yes, all cabins have private bathrooms. Cabins adapted for passengers with reduced mobility are also available.
All ships operating on the Messina–Salerno route offer a self-service restaurant.
Yes, pregnant women are allowed to travel on the Messina–Salerno route.
However, please note that while the crew is trained in first aid, some crossings may not have a medical professional on board. During navigation, the vessel may be up to 5 hours from the nearest land-based medical facility.
In case of emergency, it is possible to disembark a passenger for hospitalization or request air assistance (e.g., air ambulance), but such interventions may require several hours to complete.
