Code of Ethics

Message from the Directors

Dear Colleagues,

the safety of people represents for our Group a non-negotiable value and a defining pillar of the way we operate. Every day, thousands of passengers place their trust in us, but first and foremost, we place our trust in one another, aware that the well-being, safety and professionalism of each individual form the very foundation of our success.

The Group Code of Ethics strongly reaffirms this principle: safeguarding the health, physical integrity and dignity of individuals is a shared duty, requiring responsible and consistent conduct at every level of the organisation. Safety is not merely a regulatory requirement, but a culture to be shared and strengthened day by day.

Over recent years, the Group has taken significant steps to make this culture increasingly widespread and structured. Among the most relevant initiatives, we would like to highlight:

  • The Occupational Health and Safety Management System, compliant with ISO 45001:2018, implemented for both maritime and onshore operations, with processes for monitoring, control and continuous improvement.
  • The clear definition of roles and responsibilities, in line with applicable regulations (Legislative Decree No. 81/2008 for onshore personnel and Legislative Decree No. 271/1999 for maritime personnel), to ensure the rigorous management of prevention activities.
  • The assessment and periodic updating of Risk Assessment Documents (DVR), accompanied by the introduction of technical, organisational and procedural measures to reduce risks associated with duties and operations both on board and onshore.
  • Continuous training, both mandatory and specialised, with programmes dedicated to all levels of staff to strengthen awareness, operational skills and emergency response capabilities.
  • Ongoing health surveillance, entrusted to appointed occupational physicians responsible for verifying fitness for duty and safeguarding the psychophysical well-being of employees.
  • The adoption of specific systems and procedures for navigation safety and pollution prevention, in compliance with international conventions, with the Master serving as the key reference figure for onboard safety.
  • The promotion of reporting potentially hazardous situations, also enabled through the whistleblowing channel: an essential tool for accident prevention and the improvement of internal processes.
  • Significant investments in fleet renewal, with vessels equipped with safer, more efficient and sustainability-oriented technologies, capable of reducing operational and environmental risks.

These actions, combined with the constant commitment of our people, confirm the Group’s determination to ensure a safe, inclusive and respectful working environment. We believe that a culture of safety is not an end goal, but a continuous journey requiring individual responsibility and a spirit of collaboration. We extend our thanks to each and every one of you for the dedication with which you contribute every day to safeguarding your own safety, that of your colleagues and of the passengers we transport.

We will continue to invest, innovate and improve, because safety is – and will always remain – our most important value.
