General provisions for the boarding of pets

If you are traveling with a pet, please note that you are solely responsible for any damage caused by the animal to persons or property. For full details on your responsibilities when traveling with a pet, we recommend reviewing our Conditions of Carriage.

Pet transport is permitted provided that:

  • Your pet has a valid travel ticket;
  • It is registered in the appropriate pet registry;
  • You carry a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian;
  • All required vaccinations are up to date.

For hygiene and safety reasons, your pet must travel in a pet carrier where possible. Dogs must be leashed and muzzled for the duration of the journey.

Pets are allowed in the indoor areas of the vessels, except in food service areas.

Pet accommodation on board

On long-distance routes, pets must be housed in the designated onboard kennels.
If you book cabin accommodation, you may add the Pet Cabin Option to your reservation and keep your pet with you in the cabin.

Exceptions are made for guide dogs assisting visually impaired passengers and therapy dogs traveling for medical reasons.

For safety reasons, pets are not permitted to remain in vehicles parked in the garage area during the crossing, as it would not be possible to provide care or emergency assistance.
If you are unable to bring your pet into passenger areas, please notify our onboard staff, who will help find the best possible solution to ensure a comfortable journey for both you and your pet.
