When purchasing a journey on any C&T Group route—either online or at a port ticket office—you will receive a ticket. Its validity for boarding depends on the sales channel used and the instructions below:
Boarding procedures
Ticket Purchase and Validity for Boarding
Online Purchases via carontetourist.it, the App, or by Phone through the C&T Customer Service
The ticket is valid for boarding. The QR Code required for boarding is included in the PDF sent by e-mail after purchase.
If you are a registered user, you can also find the QR Code in the C&T App, under the “My Trips” section.
No need to check-in at the ticket office.
Purchases Made at a Port Ticket Office
The ticket is valid for boarding. A boarding pass is issued immediately upon completion of the purchase.
Any post-purchase modifications require a new check-in to be completed at a port ticket office.
If Your PDF Ticket Has No QR Code
- You must go to a ticket office with either:
- Your ticket (paper or digital), or
- Your booking/PNR code (found on the front of the ticket)
- The ticket office will complete the check-in and issue your boarding pass, which, if required by regulations for your route, will include passenger list details.
Boarding Process
Once you have your boarding pass or QR Code, proceed to the boarding area for checks by onboard staff.
The staff will scan your boarding pass using a reader to register that all passengers and vehicles listed in the QR Code have boarded.
Your boarding pass or ticket will not be collected by the crew, unless in specific cases required by the Company.
If you purchased a ticket using a discounted fare (e.g., residents of minor islands, members of affiliated organizations, etc.), you must present a valid ID during both check-in and boarding.
