MESSINA'S STRAIGHTS:
Is it cheaper if I buy a round trip ticket?
Discounts on round trip tickets are available in many forms. Consult the relative information by clicking on the menu "Schedules and Fares".
How long will the trip take?
Crossing the Messina's Straights takes about 20 minutes to and from the S. Francesco Terminal; 40 minutes to and from the port of Tremestieri.
What services are available on the ferries?
The list of services available on board can be found in the technical specifications list for the ship, which can be consulted by clicking on 'Fleet and Embarkation'.
What are the rules for transporting animals?
Dogs and cats need to stay in the cars; walking them around the decks is prohibited.
Where are the terminals?
In Messina: Rada San Francesco (take the “Messina Boccetta” motorway exit, follow the signs to “Caronte & Tourist, imbarchi Messina – Villa S.G.) in Villa San Giovanni: Villa San Giovanni Port (Take the “Villa San Giovanni” exit, follow the signs to “Caronte & Tourist, imbarchi per la Sicilia”)
Where can I get a ticket?
Directly at the ticket office at the terminal.
What are the departure times?
The Messina's Straights lines have regularly scheduled departures, with ships leaving every 40 minutes from Rada S. Francesco terminal and every 30 minutes from Messina Sud terminal.
Can I make a reservation?
No reservations are necessary for the Messina – Villa San Giovanni line because there are ships leaving around the clock.

Approximately 8 hours.
Is there a restaurant on board?
There is a self-service restaurant on each of the 3 ferries.
What is the difference between 1st class and 2nd class reclinable chairs?
1. They are in different areas of the ship.
2. In 1st class there are fewer chairs, so there are fewer people.
3. The chairs in 2nd class are covered in faux leather, but in 1st class they are covered in cloth. In both cases, there are no footrests.
Are there toilets in the cabins?
Yes, all of the cabins have toilets; there are also cabins for those with physical disabilities.

Where are the ferry terminals?
In Messina: Molo Norimberga (Zona falcata - take the “Messina Centro” exit, follow the signs to “imbarchi per Salerno”.

In Salerno: Molo 3 Gennaio (motorway A30 at the Sa/RC fork. Direction: Salerno. Exit at “Salerno centro, Costiera Amalfitana”. Follow the signs to the "Porto Commerciale".
